Southwire's 15kV cables are ideal for wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, direct burial, sunlight, and when superior electrical performance is needed. They can operate continuously at up to 90°C for normal use, 130°C for overloads, and 250°C for short circuits. Available jacket types can be installed in conduits without lubrication and are rated for 1000 lbs./FT maximum sidewall pressure.
- Conductor: Moisture-resistant class B stranded soft copper (ASTM B3, B8); Optional: moisture block, tinned copper (ASTM B33)
- Conductor Shield: Semi-conducting copolymer; Optional: Supersmooth shield, tape for cables 1500 Kcmil and above
- Insulation: 175 Mils Tree Retardant Cross Linked Polyethylene (100% insulation)
- Insulation Shield: Strippable semi-conducting cross-linked copolymer
- Concentric Neutral: Helically applied soft drawn bare copper full concentric neutral
- Overall Jacket: LLDPE Jacket, black with red stripes; Optional: PowerGlide LLDPE jacket
