Your engine's rod bolts are subjected to amazing stresses as they support the primary tension loads caused by each rotation of the crankshaft. With alternating tension loads and cyclic bending of the bolts, fasteners that aren't up to the task can break and cause catastrophic engine failure. These High Performance connecting rod bolts are manufactured from a premium grade 8740 alloy chrome moly steel that has been heat-treated to provide a tensile strength in the 200,000 psi range. Cycle testing shows ARP High Performance rod bolts to be nearly five times more reliable than stock bolts. This complete set was specially designed for select Chrysler applications (318-340-344-360 cid, with "D" head style).
