Product Description Little Giant's piggyback diaphragm switch converts any manual pump up to 1/2 HP (115V, 15 maximum running Amps) to automatic operation. Includes a 10-foot power cord. Designed to operate in water the compact design works well in limited space. The switch can be used by attaching it to the the discharge pipe to control on-off operation of the pump. The switch is activated by pressure to a diaphragm, caused by rising water around the switch housing. The switch activates the pump when water reaches 8 inches and shuts the pump off when water falls to 2 inches (+/- 0.5 inches). This switch is ideal for use with sump pumps. Note: the power cord contains a breather tube. Be sure power cord is not pinches so that the breather tube doesn't get obstructed. Non-restrictive air flow is required for proper operation.
