Mahogany (Honduras) wood veneer 48" x 62" with phenolic backer (HPL plastic backer). Approximate 1/20th"total thickness. Similar backing as is on plastic laminate (Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar) except that this is real wood veneer on the front. is higher than other backed veneer products since the product will ship in a 51" x 14" x 14" box and the dimensional weight is over 50 pounds even though the box only weighs about 15 pounds with one sheet. Most veneers will darken and be much prettier when finished. There may be a shadow on the lower left portion of the closeup picture. It is not in the product as you can see in the bigger photo.
