Fungans, though resembling waddling, short-armed mushrooms with stubby feet, are intelligent plant creatures. They inhabit ancient rainforests and swamps, where Fungal networks flourish in moist environments, and are rarely encountered by other creatures, living mostly in isolation. Fungans reside in tight-knit family units, connected by a barely visible network of spores that oscillate and shake imperceptibly to convey information.
