In preparation for the March 14, 2015 opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in Kanazawa, JR East and JR West jointly developed a new Shinkansen train (with JR West vehicles being W7 series). This model boasts improved braking performance and a system configuration that supports both 50Hz and 60Hz. It was initially introduced as the 'Asama' on the Tokyo to Nagano route on March 14, 2014, and later operated as the 'Kagayaki', 'Hakutaka', and 'Tsurugi' on the Hokuriku Shinkansen after its opening. This set includes a leading car and a middle car, with the leading car designated as car 1 and the middle car as car 2. It comes with a sticker and features a NEW SG frame. Additionally, a bonus part, the roof of car 4, is included.
