Sd Kfz 251/22D (PaK 40)

This set includes one Sd Kfz 251/22D (PaK40) Half-track with plastic components and two crew figures. The final significant variant of the Sd Kfz 251 half-track, it was created due to Hitler's directive to mount anti-tank guns on vehicles to counter increasing tank threats in late 1944. A 7.5cm PaK40 anti-tank gun was mounted on a platform behind the driver's compartment, requiring minor modifications to the half-track. The gun could traverse around 20 left or right, necessitating vehicle repositioning for off-center targets. Ammunition was stored in two bins and additional loose rounds were kept under the floor. The gunner sat on a folding wooden seat, using a standard PaK40 sight. The vehicle retained its rear-mounted machine gun for defense. Produced from December 1944, all units were issued to 1945-established Panzer Divisions. Miniatures are supplied unpainted and may require assembly.
